Silently

There is only one of you.
You are unique in a world full of identity and light thieves.
You stand tall.
And you stand out.
You have learned to get right back up when you have fallen down.
You believe you feel more than most beings.
Though, that’s not the right way of thinking or seeing.
As there are so many suffering daily, silently.
They are doing things that unintentionally drive daggers into their hearts further, repeatedly.
Thinking it’s the right thing.
Unaware of the depth each blow makes, and spirit keeps.
There are many people who feel their life is an empty affair. No room for hope do they seek.
No one is there.
There is no remedy for a feeling that can’t be met by words our mouths cant physically express.
Or at least have done so yet.
The disconnection from tongue to chest.
Life is lonely and is hard especially when you feel like you are at war with yourself indefinitely .
You end up playing your own God in human physique.
Trust me Ive tried numerous times and failed miserably.
I have fallen so many times I am finding it easier to choose to retreat before taking on pain that has no business hurting me.
I stay carrying your shield deflecting all the arrows being shot at me.
They are flying around in hopes to hit me.
Oh but I am unique , and hold faith like redwood roots for 100’s of decades.
I stay firm.
I stand tall and move quietly.
It takes a lot for me to fall, and sometimes when I do, I do it Silently.

    It was a great surprise to hear the live version read out at open mic! What a treat! And while that one had it’s own unique flow, the flow here during the recording is very unique in it’s own right as well. I love having the privilege of getting different versions, and seeing how the words make me feel now, as opposed to then. On this one, It’s even slower and more methodical. I think it fits perfectly with the vibration of the words that I feel from it. Subjectively, I really relate to this one too. You are always so vulnerable with your pieces, and that’s what I respect the most about them. I felt like with this one in particular, there was a very powerful and quiet type of vulnerability happening here. I really appreciated that!

    I don’t know if it was your intention, but the beginning and the ending lines were the beginning and finishers within the narrative, and thus they were absolutely connected together. And I’m just an absolute sucker for writings like that! lol.

    And there is absolutely no fucking question for me that this is my favorite line, I felt it as soon as I saw it and heard it: “Oh but I am unique , and hold faith like redwood roots for 100’s of decades.” So fucking good imagery drawing upon your specific cultural context, and for your context of thoughts here! I just absolutely fucking love that! Really fucking good words! Jot that down in the Sierra quote book right now! Lol!!

    I’m super proud of the woman you’re continuing to grow into! You are already good enough as you are, but yet you don’t settle for less, and you continue to improve upon the greatness that you already have! That’s priceless! I love that you never stop trying. I love that you don’t take any shit! And that you stand tall as YOU! And I love the journey you’re continuing on! And I look up, and I pray and thank God above for allowing us to find each other again. I remember in the open mic chat something you said last night that meant the most to me, which was when you said, “We always find a way back to each other.” That’s not the exact quote, but I’m paraphrasing here. That meant the most to me. I KNOW I’ve known you before. You are just as beautiful to me now, as you were then. And you ALWAYS will be. No matter what light thieves try to take from you, you always win in the end. They may try to damage your life, and your time on this earth physically, but they can’t take that beauty that is within you spiritually no matter how hard they try. They already lost the war before it even started. So with all of that said, I can’t wait to get back and catch up on all the other gems that you’re going to drop here for a bit while I’m gone! Keep being the fucking bright light that YOU are! ✨🌟

      I’ve said it once and I will say it again, I am so blessed to have met such a light that shines no matter what. You have this soul that is both beautiful and bold. You always find space to hold others. I am so grateful our paths crossed. I will always find you!
